In this comprehensive and practical book, Anthony Dew distills the knowledge gained during more than 25 years as a rocking horse designer, maker and restorer.
The book describes every aspect of rocking horse making and shows you how you can make one of these superb playthings. Projects are included to suit all levels of ability, from very simple hobby horses through to a carved carousel style horse, and includes designs for the archetypal Victorian style rocking horse in several sizes.
Anthony hopes this new book will introduce many more people to a fascinating craft, which he believes is as relevant and valuable in the 21st century as it has been in the past. Certainly there is a wonderful sense of achievement and satisfaction in seeing your children and grandchildren riding a rocking horse which you have made.
"Anthony Dew has succeeded in distilling the skills and knowledge acquired over the past twenty five years as one of the country's foremost rocking horse makers into a wonderfully concise and easy-to-follow book that will assuredly provide all the information you will ever need to create your very own rocking horse." Robert Nathan, Manager of The British Toymakers Guild.
