Make this appealing Half-Size Traditional Style Rocking Horse carved in Plywood and designed by Anthony Dew. Finished size approx. 36” long x 21” high x 8” wide (900 x 540 x 195mm)
These courses are aimed at those wishing to make a laminated mini Rocking Horse. We will show you how, using traditional hand tools and the latest electric carving tools which are ideal for this beautiful laminated horse. Previous carving experience in not necessary and all skill levels are accommodated, and each student will be taught all the techniques to successfully carve the Mini Rocky. Sanding, varnishing, fitting stand or bow rocker & tacking up is not included in this course but can be easily finished at home.
The course fee includes:-
- Three days tuition.
- Use of workshop equipment and all carving tools.
- Lunch, usually cold meats and salads, as well as refreshments
- Mini Rocky timber pack on bow rockers including the bows which you will assemble later. (You may carve the Mini Rocky on a safety stand for an additional £15.) Accessories and tack to finish the horse are also not included.
COVID-19 - we have reduced the number of people on the course to a maximum of 4 to comply with social distancing. We run our carving courses in our 'cartshed' workshop, which has plenty of space for each person to work.
The Mini Rocky carving courses courses run 9:30am till 4:30pm on the first two days, 9:00am to 12pm on the final day, with a maximum of 4 students on each course. These Mini Rocky courses take place in our purpose built workshop.
Accommodation is not included, but we can recommend several local B & Bs, pubs or hotels, and will send you a list on request.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS: To cancel your place please inform us at least 14 days in advance. A charge of £50 will be made on all cancellations made within 14 days of the course.
