Join us on Friday 27th June 2025 for a hands-on, one-day carving course where you’ll learn to carve the head of a laminated chair horse – a charming and practical gift for a toddler. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned woodworker, this project is a perfect starting point or a rewarding new challenge. Guided by our expert craftsmen, you'll learn how to shape and refine the key features of the horse's head using traditional carving techniques. By the end of the day, you won’t just take home a beautifully carved piece – you’ll take home the beginning of a treasured keepsake, lovingly made for a young child to enjoy for years to come.

Previous carving experience is not necessary and all skill levels are accommodated - each student will be taught all the techniques to successfully carve, the course will focus on carving the head of the laminated horse which is the hardest part to do.  With the help and practical advise given on the course, you will be able to complete the project in the comfort of your home.

COURSE INCLUDES £320 WORTH OF MATERIALS AND PRODUCTS!

The course fee includes:-

• One days tuition including use of workshop equipment and all carving tools.
• Lunch, Enjoy a light spread of baked savouries, sandwiches and crisps. Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be available throughout the day to keep you fueled while you carve.
• Included in the course: timber pack for the chair horse, full accessory set, varnish, instruction video and plan. 

The Rocking Horse carving courses courses run 9:00am till 5:00pm, with a maximum of 4 students on each course. These courses take place in our purpose built workshop. Accommodation is not included, but we can recommend several local B & Bs, pubs or hotels, and will send you a list on request.
